The visit from Barack Obama provides an opportunity for entrepreneurs to tell the President how a new type of business is emerging in New Orleans, in the wake of Hurricane Katrina.

Declaration of Innovation started as a simple idea, which became a media campaign. But its destination is unknown, limited only by our imagination.

The Declaration of Innovation tells the story of how New Orleans is rebounding from the worst natural disaster in our nation’s history. A passion for community  and problem solving helped us survive. Now innovation is taking the city to new levels of success, growth and joy.

The Declaration of Innovation project is a microcosm of how we do business in New Orleans. The project exhibits how the local business community delivers quality through passion, trust, agility and partnership.

Since the idea was generated just a week ago, the vision has been documented, networks engaged, and a full-page newspaper ad placed. Inspired voices were captured, and the movement has started.

We feel the innovative way of doing business in New Orleans has something to offer to the entire world. We think it may even become a blueprint for new economies in the 21st century.

From here, Declaration of Innovation will create dialogues among local businesses and entrepreneurs on how to align our business strategies to solve problems and break new ground, utilizing great ideas and group action to take this city to new heights.
